Bio

Allan R. Tate currently manages sales of integrated technology services, including cloud, business continuity, enterprise integration, mobility, security, strategy and design, for one of IBM’s business units in New England. He has been selected as an IBM Redbooks thought leader and writes for the Thoughts on Cloud blog. He is the organizer of a social networking organization, The New England Business and Technology Insight Group, which focuses on applying technology to business problems. Allan has more than 30 years of prior experience in roles including IT Architect, IT Specialist, Program Manager, Product Manger, Software Developer and Automation Researcher, with extensive knowledge of business development, organizational change and software development methodologies for distributed teams.
 
Allan received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. His areas of focus were system dynamics, controls, and robotics. He was a research fellow at The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, where he completed his master’s thesis. Allan and his wife have three children and live in Bedford, Massachusetts.
